Brandon | Fun500 6 progressFun500 6.PA.0 (that's the internal name 6 PreAlpha 0) has been finished. It has the basics done enough that the about application is done. Before it can reach alpha or beta it needs the new Dock, and a few more applications.
In case you have ignored my post for the last 6/year where I've been brainstorming for 6, it will be one big EXE, kernel apps and all in one.
So what apps should I make, basically what apps/app could use use in an embedded multitasking Shell meant to be run over FreeDOS on low end systems: maybe 8MB ram would be enough, 16MB is good, cpu of at least 486, 200Mhz recommended.
Some Ideas I have: File Manager, RSS viewer
So what do you think?
PS:It just occurred to me, if you want to get screenshots/early alphas etc, make an app for Fun500 5 and I'll start a "Fun500 Developer Network". | 2010-01-01 | 12:45 PM |

Brandon | Re:Fun500 6 progressFB, once I figured out that WGET is 32bit I realized that I might as well use FreeBASIC. I put a lot of work into Fun500 5 thinking it'd run on my 286 only to find that It wouldn't work. And besides, what 16bit only machine is going to have the power to multitask? | 2010-01-01 | 3:16 PM |
bongomeno | Re:Fun500 6 progressWell, I would trust any QBasic OS on a 16 bit machine before Windows. lol
by the way, I think it would be cool if you had text input/forms in fun500.
This way you could have a text editer. With that you could program your apps right there on your desktop! | 2010-01-01 | 3:38 PM |
Brandon | Re:Fun500 6 progressYeah I have never made it to the whole multiline thing yet, I suppose that should be at the top of my list of priorities. | 2010-01-01 | 4:07 PM |
