aguma | The Land of StuffWell the site and server are still up: http://losonline.co.cc/
I fixed most (notice MOST) of the bugs, and now there's barely any time lag between the client performing an action and the other clients seeing it. Also, I revamped the graphics slightly so they actually look like stuff rather than blobs of color :P
Anyway, I was thinking of letting people host it and create mods for it (i.e. everyone in the game has $10000000), so that way I don't have to host it plus there's a bunch of ways to play it instead of painfully leveling up.
idk...what do you guys think i should do? I mean, it's a waste to just abandon 3000 lines of code plus all the content... | 2009-12-30 | 4:00 PM |
pharoah | Re:The Land of StuffI think that it would be really cool if you could give it an isometric or oblique pseudo-3d tiling engine.

Both of these can be tiled like regular (oddly shaped) 2d tiles if you paint them in the right order. If you're interested, I've written semi-complete engines for both at some point, I can probably dredge one up.
Whatever you do, this project is cool. Keep it up!
EDIT:
Started playing, it's actually quite fun and a bit quirky. I'm really impressed that you've written and designed all this. Forget what I said about changing the graphics engine... I've always wanted to make an isometric MMORPG and never quite got around to it :).
I am a bit confused at some of the stuff in the store though, like S and xe... what are they? | 2009-12-30 | 6:09 PM |
aguma | Re:The Land of StuffThanks for the feedback, actually I was working on making it completely 3d but I decided it was too much work :P
as to the store, I'm not sure what you mean, could you maybe post a pic? | 2009-12-30 | 8:21 PM |
aguma | Re:The Land of Stuffsorry for double posting, but when I edit a post it doesn't come up as unread (ahem Brandon, fix that)
anyway, I bought a domain! visit www.landofstuff.net!
(That was the reason downloading a new client didn't do anything, for anyone with problems playing) | 2009-12-31 | 7:35 PM |
Brandon | Re:The Land of StuffAnd edited post should only be unread if the original is. And don't use CMSimple, I did and my site got hacked. Todd might know of something else simple and light to use. | 2009-12-31 | 10:33 PM |
