ToddNo more thin clients, please...
Unfortunately I'm throwing the towel in for my thin client project. I waited for over a month and my CF card arrived, then today my CF IDE adapter arrived (finally) and after waiting for so long, the IDE adapter isn't compatible since my thin client has all 40 pins and the adapter has 39 (as most IDE cables do). The BIOS doesn't recognize the CF card nor any storage device other than my stupid DiskOnModule card that I can't use either. After all this wasted effort, I'm just going to forget thin clients for a while. I'm tired of this poor communication with sellers, slow shipping service, and arbitrary hardware parts that are hard to find working. I think I'll save the thin client for something else or maybe sell it (again).

I might be willing to trade it for other stuff, if you want to come up to NY sometime to trade/buy some parts.

I probably won't be traveling until like Spring. To get to Friendship, do I have to go through Manhattan and other places or is it mostly back roads? I'm just not too thrilled about a lot of highway driving just for a day.

It's no were near NYC, so it would be a lot of boring-ness :P You'd get to go to the local cheese shoppe, its pretty famous, lol. Here's a map, a for hour trip might not be worth it unless you really want something (Or I want something), in which case it'd probably be cheaper to just ship it than the gas for the trip: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&hl=en&geocode=&saddr=Bethlehem,PA&daddr=Friendship,NY&sll=42.206457,-78.13751&sspn=0.055312,0.154324&ie=UTF8&z=8 Are you interested in Windows XP Pentium 4 boxes? I have a few now and a couple P3 laptops, a bunch of motherboard and CPUs, just a huge selection.

Not at the moment. My room is like tower PC galore and my Mom replaced her desktop and laptop with a brand new HP laptop so she's giving me her old tower and laptop (with Vista). Thanks for the offer. I have to build up an inventory of all the stuff I have. I have tons of hardware I need to get rid of. Would you be interested in a SCSI storage / backup system? I don't have ALL the cables but it looks like it would work. I never tried it but if I get the chance, I'll try to see what it needs to run. I also have some old P2 laptops, a Palm PDA and a Handspring PDA, and some various hardware and cables.

I have some SCSI stuff, I could use more. It would depend on the PDA model, and specs. If you have an IBM laptop or any IBM desktops, I'd be interested.
