JacobPalmCosta 0.9.8 released
Hello, fellow GUI coders! :) It's definitely been a while since I've shown myself around here, as I've been having a long break from programming. But I'm still around, and still working on Costa - I'm too stubborn to give up before version 1.0 ;) So, in the past months I've used the little spare time I have to work on Costa, and I've now finished version 0.9.8 and put it online. It has a desktop and a few accessories. The things that are in the download are mostly finished, the only thing between this release and 1.0 is some more accessories. Costa is finally good enough for everyday use - I use it as the shell on my old DOS machine. I've written some things about this release on the homepage, so you can have a look there and see more information about this release. The address is http://costa.jacobpalm.dk. Brandon: Good to see Fun500 still alive and kicking, keep it up!

I probably should work on Fun500 this week, its been a little while, and school is finally starting to settle down. I suppose that I'll try Costa tomorrow or Monday, I'm working on a computer right now, and think I want to install Win98 for GUI dev/testing and fun. I think Costa will be a strong competitor in GUI Awards, assuming you sign up(based off the screenshots) Is there any reason Costa won't run on a 286?

Absolutely not, I've never owned a 286 so I never thought of running it on one. But of course, it will run on 286. I've updated the homepage and the manual, but there's no reason to re-download as that's the only change I've made. If you see that anywhere else, let me know and I'll correct it. When will the GUI Awards take place?

December, so you have plenty of time to get a .9.9 or 1.0 out. And I'll have plenty of time to try and beat you :P It's nice to know it'll work on a 286, Fun500 will except the package manager, which is the "killer app" :P
