Brandon | Re:Borland C++I read a C/C++? book this summer, it was aimed at someone who was new to programming in general, so I got bored fast. I'm going to have to find a better reference, maybe for next summer. | 2009-10-09 | 6:47 AM |
Todd | Re:Borland C++lol I don't read the books. I just open up the tutorials and play around with them until I know what I'm doing. | 2009-10-09 | 7:00 AM |
aguma | Re:Borland C++try C How To Program, by Deitel. It's old, but it's fun and you there's a project where you can make an interpreter in it. | 2009-10-09 | 6:53 PM |
trolly | Re:Borland C++Use MS Visual C# (or Visual C++) express B)
you'll get a more modern and powerfull IDE.
MSDN library is a great place to get help and tutorials. | 2009-10-09 | 11:16 PM |
SonicBrit | Re:Borland C++Cool, I loved Borland C++, back in the day it was better than Microsofts DOS compilers. Sadly though after about version 5, they just let themselves go, they tried to bring it back with C++ Builder, but I think it was too little too late.
Which Version did you get? | 2009-10-10 | 8:26 PM |
Todd | Re:Borland C++Yeah I love the old Borland products. I still use the version of Delphi when it was made by them. Before they sold to Embarcadero which went to town on the name and tried to make .NET/Mono knock-offs using the Delphi name. | 2009-10-10 | 9:51 PM |
jasonwoodland | Re:Borland C++not sure, it's from 1990 and the disks are corrupt, back to vetusware, lol. :laugh: | 2009-10-10 | 11:31 PM |
Todd | Re:Borland C++I'm guessing somewhere between 3.0 and 4.5. | 2009-10-11 | 12:32 AM |
Brandon | Re:Borland C++It sucks getting only software on floppies to have it not work. I have 5/6 of the Win3.0 disks, all work, but I'm missing that one. Vetusware saves the day though, I just use win3.1 from there. | 2009-10-11 | 8:56 AM |
Todd | Re:Borland C++Vetusware is awesome. They even have a copy of Microsoft Bob! lol | 2009-10-11 | 10:56 AM |
