Brandon | Web Browsers and the GUI BlogI've had Analytics on the site sine 10/28/08 so at the end of next month I will be releasing all sorts of cool reports showing what we have collected over the year. Today I decided to generate a report of all the web-browsers and their usage numbers. [file name=BrowsersReport.zip size=8835]http://theguiblog.com/images/fbfiles/files/BrowsersReport.zip[/file] Not surprisingly Firefox steals the show. But I can say that I haven't used Firefox much for a few months now. The Mac port, although okay, seemed to be less impressive than its Linux and Windows counterparts. I used Safari with an add-on called Glims that made it usable, but the latest version of Safari broken compatibility, and I don't like safari's window resizing. I was lucky enough to find the development builds of Chromium for Mac and its, in my opinion the best browser for MacOS, even in its rough form. I just updated to the latest build the other day and it looks like things are steadily improving, UI-wise. I tried Opera 10, but after about 15 minutes, I was back to Chromium. | 2009-09-03 | 8:48 AM |
