At a hastily convened press conference Bill Gates announced that he personally thinks that "Linux is the best OS ever."
He added, "Mundie and Ballmer are idiots. Their talk about how open source software damages intellectual property or how Linux is a cancer, is moronic. When I heard these attacks I felt sick to my stomach. How could a company that I poured my blood, sweat and tears into spread these untruths? My conscience guides me, that's why I'm before you today."
Gates then went on for fifteen minutes explaining why Linux was superior to all other computer operating systems - "especially Windows."
During the question and answer period that followed many reporters openly questioned Gates sanity and sobriety. "Have you gone mad?", "Are you drunk?", "What about Windows XP," they asked. Though it was requested several times Gates refused both a psychiatric examination and a breathalyzer test.
Scores of Linux web sites were quick to declare victory with headlines like, "Torvalds Defeats Gates!" Others were more hesitant, and suspected a Microsoft conspiracy. Open source advocate Bruce Torman said, "Microsoft is at it again! Bashing...er...praising Linux. This argument that Linux is the best OS ever is just another red herring by the Microsoft PR machine. Aw screw it, I don't know what the hell to make of it."
In addition to praising Linux as the best operating system ever, Gates also had some critical comments of Microsoft's flagship OS. "I never really liked Windows all that much," said Gates, "All that crashing and rebooting drove me nuts. I stopped using it about 3 years ago, but it was a pretty good money maker for the company so we stuck with it."
Gates added, "Keep in mind that the opinions offered are my own personal opinions, and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Microsoft."

Linux i think started really well but has kinda become to cluttered. the kernel is fat and it take a while to load.
mac os x and unix both run really fast on my pc:
AMD-x2 4800+ Dual Core 64-bit
2 gig DDR2
i ran linux on it wen i first got it and it was ok i think i had ubuntu or PC linux os on it and wen they brought out KDE 4 not only was it ugly but it lagged behind KDE 3.5
i am a huge fan of linux i just hope they dont make the same mistakes microsoft have.

Mac OS is definitely slower than a well set up Linux, but obviously faster than WinXP.

| JFK | Re:Bill Gates has gone madyeh you can customize the Mac os Gui but its fairly limited and you can run KDE and Gnome in mac.
I like to bring up the alt+ctrl+del menu in a store selling vista PC's and ask them why this computer is ideling at 1.25GB memory and im not even running anything 9/10 they are speechless... ouch
i used to fresh install XP within 2months.
i was a windows 2000 fan XP when it first came out (no SP1) was basically windows 2000 SP5 with a skin but now its crap SP3 is hopeless.
Microsoft said "XP and vista has far superior Security with Anti Virus suits and Firewalls" compared to any other OS!!
Ok lets read into this...Viruses for Linux, Unix And mac? hm...none?
i feel way way way safer cruising the net on a linux PC and Mac PC then i do a windows PC we dont need that memory hogging crap.

YOU CAN RUN WINDOWS APP IN MAC ASWELL "CODEWEAVERS"
