ksr | Re:PortableUbuntuLooks cool! It seems like it uses disk images. Can you transfer files between the two systems? | 2009-04-09 | 1:02 PM |
Todd | Re:PortableUbuntuYes and yes. It uses a 2 GB image but it mounts your hard drive on Ubuntu (/mnt/C/). | 2009-04-09 | 1:29 PM |
SonicBrit | Re:PortableUbuntuWhats interesting is it uses a sort of virtual machine on windows to boot the ubuntu then runs an x windows server, on your windows machine it runs an x windows client, so thats why all the windows are able to move freely around your desktop pretty cool. I have it installed at home, pretty fun to play with. | 2009-04-09 | 2:44 PM |
Todd | Re:PortableUbuntuYeah it's pretty neat how they did this. It's not shown to be emulated like running it in QEMU or VMware, but it runs Xming. | 2009-04-09 | 3:29 PM |
