Brandon | New Stuff for me!I've just ordered a 4GB CF card for my thin client that I will end up paying for. Also my sister was borrowing a keyboard and spilled stuff on it, so my dad is buying me a new Logitech 100, pretty nice, and hes getting a P3 Kill-A-Watt so we can test how much power shit uses!
I plan to use the keyboard and CF on my thin client, install Syllable and use it as an everyday system, in the process learning C and working to improve Syllable. | 2009-04-01 | 9:02 PM |

aguma | Re:New Stuff for me!C gives you a lot of power over your computer, but it's so darn frustrating when you type a letter wrong and the entire program crashes and you don't have any idea what happened. | 2009-04-01 | 11:39 PM |
Brandon | Re:New Stuff for me!My thin client was $20 including shipping, 300MHz National Semiconductor Geode (Its about as fast as a P100 or P150, but needs no fans so the system is 100% silent, I can't tell its on), 64MB PC133 RAM, with a 32mb CF as its primary storage, plugged into a CF to laptop hdd caddy.
I know syllable will run, I had it on a laptop hdd and plugged it in.
Yeah, I figure its time for C, I want to help the Syllable project, as long as they keep things simple for the end-user, low hardware requirements, and keep network minded.
I'll probably have to develop for Syllable on my Core2 or my Athlon, 300Mhz seems like not enough, but a Dual Core should be enough :P
PS: I'm also building a Quad Core system for my uncle (hence the stuff, the more you buy the more you save, shipping wise), Phenom X4 9650,4GB DDR2 (2x2GB) its gonna be a beast. | 2009-04-02 | 6:52 AM |
