Brandon | Interest in Fun500 5Fun500 5 is gonna take a lot of my own personal time to complete, a few hours to finish dialogs, then a few more for the package manager, and even more for the few bundled apps.
I would be happy to make it, but only if other people will get behind it and help, for example, someone (Todd :P) could port apps from GUIs like Rush and Blue, also a simple QML and HTML Browser, image editor, text editor and the likes.
I'm not gonna wast my time if no one will get behind me, it would just be another generic GUI with a few apps.
I can give benefits to Developers, for example:
-Reserving app names
-BETAs that aren't public
And eventually there will be a fancy PHP REPO system, were you can upload your package and the database will automatically update. If you aren't a "certified developer" it will take longer, because someone will have to test the quality of your app first.
Please, let me know if:
1. You have a computer you might use it on.
2. You are a developer who wants to make software for it.
3. You just want to see me finish. | 2009-03-14 | 2:12 PM |
Todd | Re:Interest in Fun500 5I can try and write apps for it. I'd have to know all the commands in the scripting engine but Rush and Blue have a lot of widgets that are hard to manipulate under a scripting engine in QB. | 2009-03-14 | 2:43 PM |
pharoah | Re:Interest in Fun500 5This one is a uni-scripting QB based GUI, so writing apps for it would basically entail writing QB apps and using the Fun500 library to make them look like the rest of the GUI. | 2009-03-14 | 3:01 PM |
ksr | Re:Interest in Fun500 5Are applications written in FB a possibility? | 2009-03-14 | 5:37 PM |
pharoah | Re:Interest in Fun500 5I suppose they might be, but you'd have to port the libs yourself. | 2009-03-14 | 5:41 PM |
Brandon | Re:Interest in Fun500 5Well, as a rule, no app can use a screen mode other than 12 and be in my repo.
So I suppose, a port of the library to FB could be a possibility, if its requested. | 2009-03-14 | 5:57 PM |
