trolly | Ondin GuiHi,
I'm New and I've wrote a gui in quickbasic.
It uses the mode 13h in 256colors.
The main goal is to make a gui like a "Mobile gui" (that means non taskbar, no start menu, Only icon on the desktop)
It look verry nice, he has "zooming" icons.
The interface is multi user.
each users has theirs personal configuration files and personal documents
the package can be downloaded here
the package contain the main gui and a few programs and games like
- file crypter
- contact manager
- Calendar
- Calculator
- "Pong" Game
- "Pacman" Game
- "Same" Game
- "Mines" Game
there is 2 user pre-configured:
- root (password=root)
- guest (password=guest)
if you log in as root, you can add/remove/modify users

ksr | Re:Ondin GuiSalut trolly, it's always nice to see a new face on the forum.
I must say I'm very impressed by Ondin! It seems overall to be very polished and worthy of some portable DOS hardware! In fact, if I still had the DOS emulator on my PDA, I would try this out, because it looks like it would work very well on there.
It's always nice when people take the effort to write useful and usable programs for their GUIs, which is something of a rarity around here. (I had much fun playing the pacman game! :D)
In short, very very polished. Nice little things like the multi-user idea, the unix-like directory structure, and full sources for all of the programs, make this one of my favourites. | 2008-09-24 | 1:12 PM |
Brandon | Re:Ondin GuiVery cool, besides the fact that its not all english. | 2008-09-24 | 2:09 PM |
trolly | Re:Ondin Guihi,
thank you for yours comments.
i will translate the gui in english and write docs for the gui library.
there are many intersting things to discover in the pictures functions like
-display only a part of a image (used in pong)
-display a miniature of a image (used in the wall paper config
-display a growed image (used in the desktop)
here is only examples of functionality, but there's more on the lib
the doc will comming son in maxi on week | 2008-09-24 | 5:27 PM |

trolly | Re:Ondin Guiwell,
if you want, you can easyly contribute to this gui.
I need a tiny text editor... and somme other usefull apps. | 2008-09-24 | 9:58 PM |
Todd | Re:Ondin GuiGreat job on the GUI, trolly! It's neat how you've made the GUI very colorful and elegant. The apps are pretty neat and I was having some fun with those games too. :)
Keep up the great work and when I get a chance I'll review your GUI along with the others in my pile. ;) | 2008-09-24 | 10:43 PM |
Brandon | Re:Ondin GuiI sat and tried it today, its not all that hard to figure out what ever language it is in, but it seems pretty good. The thing seems to have a good solid working feeling (no bugs or holes), but If I review it, the Screen Resolution and the lack of a text editor or viewer will hurt your score. | 2008-09-25 | 2:00 PM |
ksr | Re:Ondin GuiBear in mind though, Brandon, that it's designed as a mobile GUI. | 2008-09-25 | 2:04 PM |
Brandon | Re:Ondin GuiYeah I suppose the screen 13 thing is overlookable. | 2008-09-25 | 2:05 PM |
Todd | Re:Ondin GuiI think it looks pretty good. Even in SCREEN 13, it's still very high in quality. | 2008-09-25 | 2:08 PM |
Brandon | Re:Ondin Gui
The thing seems to have a good solid working feeling (no bugs or holes)
I see the quality. I just want more!!! If we don't say that there is any problems, then its perfect and we won't work on it anymore. We have to let him know what we want added. | 2008-09-25 | 2:09 PM |
Todd | Re:Ondin GuiI'm not saying it's perfect but it's definitely a good milestone. Give credit where credit is due but don't undercredit accomplishments. | 2008-09-25 | 2:15 PM |
