I was researching the origins of the desktop metaphor, and came across this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a11JDLBXtPQ It's really quite incredible - there's collapsable lists, a pointing device (this conference was the first public demonstration of the computer mouse) and even HYPERTEXT! Lol, so I'm supposed to click on that when my GUI won't compile? :D To say I'd never heard of it before, this NLS operating system is really impressive. You can see who edited what in a document (just like a wiki), and it even has a primitive email system.		2008-08-146:50 PM

I remember I researched this last year. They invented the first mouse which was basically a small boxy piece of plastic that had obtrusive buttons and two huge wheels beneath it which were positions vertically and horizontally.
