Brandon | BullshitA company is dishing out bullshit and its not Microsoft. EA is making some bullshit DRM were you have to activate everytime the game goes on-line or you install. That sounds ok BUT they only let you install 3 times. And the worst prt is that hardware change can trigger that! With how often I switch PCs/CPUs I'll burn that in a month! I really want the game though. Google for "SPORE DRM" for more info. | 2008-08-13 | 4:47 PM |
Todd | Re:BullshitEA really has gotten out of their quality. They used to make some pretty awesome games but now it seems like they're more focused on making money. I used to play Need For Speed and all the versions of it were great until the ones after NFS Porsche Unleashed. NFS Carbon and those likes are just terrible. It's like a poor mock-up of GTA. I think that DRM is pretty stupid. Why not just do it like this?
1. Make the game 2. Insert serial numbers into a database 3. Print serial numbers on individual games 4. User buys game 5. User verifies serial number through online system 6. User enters additional info in case of deactivation or switching PCs 7. Game is activated 8. User has fun
It's probably China. They pirate everything from InstallShield to Windows. | 2008-08-13 | 5:35 PM |
