pharoah | Say goodbye to the old CURSOR
Thought I'd let everyone know that I'll be taking down the old flat file, single keyword version of CURSOR, which has operated been practically unchanged since 2008. Later today I'll be replacing it with a new search engine that I've written entirely from scratch. The new CURSOR will use a database to store more information about the pages in its index, and will allow you to search for phrases instead of just single words.
In case there are any other nostalgic types out there, here's your chance to use the old, naively designed CURSOR one last time. The new version will take its place, and all of the old URLs and links should still work as well.

pharoah | Re:Say goodbye to the old CURSORWell, I've been in there for a while, and I don't think it works. Maybe we should look for a different chat program.
In the meanwhile, I'm on QML chat if you're bored. | 2011-03-18 | 10:02 PM |

pharoah | New CURSORThe new version of CURSOR is up, and it's better than ever. I'll be fixing and adding little things, but the main functionality is all there. Have at it, and, as always, keep those suggestions coming! | 2011-03-18 | 11:13 PM |
tacodrake95 | Re:Say goodbye to the old CURSORWhat's the URL? qstep 3's browser doesn't connect to it. | 2011-03-18 | 11:26 PM |
pharoah | Re:Say goodbye to the old CURSORIt should be the same as the old url:

tacodrake95 | Re:Say goodbye to the old CURSORit works in another browser, and i must say, it is very much improved. | 2011-03-18 | 11:35 PM |
pharoah | Re:Say goodbye to the old CURSORAt Brandon's suggestion, I've made a change to CURSOR whereby it keeps a hash of your QML page from its last crawl, so that it won't bother to update the database entries for that page if the hash is still the same. Unfortunately, this won't save your server any effort, since it still fetches the page, but it will make CURSOR able to operate much more quickly, meaning that it will get more pages crawled at a time and will be more up to date. | 2011-03-19 | 6:09 PM |
tacodrake95 | Re:Say goodbye to the old CURSORHow do you get your website in the database? | 2011-03-19 | 10:18 PM |

pharoah | Re:Say goodbye to the old CURSORI should make a page to submit sites. I'll do it tomorrow.
For now, you could just create a thread on the forum (if you can get the QML post thing to work). | 2011-03-19 | 11:33 PM |

pharoah | Re:Say goodbye to the old CURSORHow does that work in CQML? I never remember how to load a local file. | 2011-03-20 | 11:06 AM |
Brandon | Re:Say goodbye to the old CURSORYou just enter the address in the bar as long as it's not "http" at the start then it will try to load locally. | 2011-03-20 | 7:14 PM |
