Some sort of IDE-like development environment. It'd be nice to write our own applications for Q-Step.

A text editor and something a lot of GUIs seem to ignore: a good filemanager.

something a lot of GUIs seem to ignore: a good filemanager. How ironic.

I have tried it, however it doesn't have a a full featured file manager, it may have file dialogs, but I don't remember seeing a file manager. I do however rmember the text editor, I was more answering "What I want in Q-Step" than "What should be added to Q-Step", but calling me out as not having tried it when you have no idea as to wether or not I've tried it is just being rude.

There is already a text editor. the first version was not very practical, but i've made a new UI control for it, where i removed the text formating (useless for plain text) but where you can move the cursor by a mouse click, and edit the text inside.   I agree to brandon that the file manager is'nt very functionnal, for now you can show a directory, delete a file or move it to another directory (by drag&drop)
