ksr | microsoft piss me off. With all the hype around Windows 7 actually being half decent, I caved in and bought a copy given that it's only £30 for students and there are a few things which don't work too well on wine - games, photoshop, various other photographic things. So I buy it online and get two options - an ISO or an EXE. Great, I think. I'll download the ISO, burn it to disc, stick it in and I'm away. But Microsoft don't seem to know what an ISO is - both links point to EXEs. :/

Todd | Re:microsoft piss me off.My school has something similar. The ISO is downloaded by the EXE in my situation. It's a stupid way of preventing piracy since they can easily just put the ISO on a torrent. It might be the same deal for you. | 2010-10-08 | 9:39 AM |
ksr | Re:microsoft piss me off.I don't know what their line of thinking was. But you can download an ISO from elsewhere so I did that and used my activation key. It turns that I'd inadvertently bought the upgrade version, but you can do a full install from an upgrade disc/iso anyway so it all worked out. | 2010-10-08 | 2:15 PM |
