Brandon | Whats up.I haven't been updating much on here, mainly because I haven't done much programming. I bought a Toshiba 486 laptop that I will be testing GUIs on, modded my old IBM PC 350 case to take standard MicroATX motherboards, and have been building a new PC to run CIv5. I have a couple web-sites to make before the end of the summer, which probably will be the extent of my programming. I was planning to work on Fun500, but it got annoying because there is a bug in FreeBASIC which eventually crashes the GUI when ran under real DOS on real Hardware, I fixed it for the most part by DIMing all my variables at the beginning of my code, but it still crashes eventually. If you'd like to experiment, the 6.2.1 code can be compiled with the "-lang deprecated" option and if you run it on real hardware and let it run for a while, you'll find that it does crash. Besides, I don't see much competition and expect to easily win GUI Awards. In "real life" I finished drivers ed, and should be signing up to take my road test any day, my girlfriend broke up with me at the start of summer (hence so much GUI progress then) which means I should have more time for GUIs, and I've been touring colleges as I'll be starting my Senior year in high school next month. | 2010-08-16 | 12:38 PM |
