izidor | Giving up and starting something newAbout a year ago i started working on a GUI called BGUI and i thought it's gonna be easy, but it isn't (for me). I had a lot of ideas that i couldn't realize. Now im gonna do something a bit different. So this is a kind of warning for thoes who are going to make a GUI, start simple, do not complicate the things! | 2010-04-22 | 3:31 PM |
Brandon | Re:Giving up and starting something newThat's good advice, a lot of GUI projects get abandoned because the goals are too high, and not realistic. | 2010-04-22 | 4:01 PM |
HorvatM | Re:Giving up and starting something newGiving up is never a good idea. Especially if you wrote a lot of code already. You just need to take your time, even if it takes years, the end result will be worth it. | 2010-04-22 | 4:03 PM |
izidor | Re:Giving up and starting something newActually I was working on it for a full year (not every day but when i was bored and had some free time), well there is a lot of code (for me) about 3000 lines 65k bas.
btw. HorvatM where do yo come from? | 2010-04-22 | 5:30 PM |
ksr | Re:Giving up and starting something newIn a word, plan. All of my large scale projects have failed because I didn't plan what I was doing, I just dived straight in :P And in terms of how to plan, nothing beats a pen and paper. | 2010-04-23 | 12:57 AM |
HorvatM | Re:Giving up and starting something newI'm from Slovenia. I knew there was something Slavic about you :)
By the way, a Wacom tablet + MS Paint _does_ beat pen and paper. | 2010-04-23 | 1:30 AM |
