BrandonFirst 6 Public Release
This is Fun500 6 Pre Alpha 4, if you have a real 386/486 try it and see how it flies.

Looks OK, but why does the mouse pointer keep redrawing itself when you hold down the button? Will the windows be resizable? Will it support right-clicks? I'll test it on my 486. I'd love to test it on my 386 but the floppy drive appears to be dead, so I can't boot it. (The hard drive is dead as well.) It's a laptop so finding a new floppy drive is as easy as finding a living mammoth. Maybe it just needs cleaning, who knows... Will it be a scripter? If so, will it run 5.x apps? Will we be able to do local installations this time? How about dialog boxes?

BrandonRe:First 6 Public Release
It's pre-alpha!! Remember it's no where near done Will the windows be resizable? There is no Windows, they are tiles and they are all 320x234. It's not debatable, it's a major part of the concept.
Will it support right-clicks? Yes
Will it be a scripter? If so, will it run 5.x apps? No, it will not be a scripter, and yes Fun500 5 apps will be runnable, obviously not multitasked however.
Will we be able to do local installations this time? Apps will not be installable at all, they are compiled into the kernel.
How about dialog boxes? Yes they'll be there by BETA 1

As far as your 386, maybe a new harddrive would make sense?

I haven't downloaded it yet, but what if say I just had a word processor running? I'd want it to use all of the screen. edit: OK just downloaded it, not much to say about this early release except it looks pretty robust. One thing you could do though is when you click on the menus, do the selected action on mouseup instead of mousedown. That way you can select a menu item in a single click+drag+release movement.

DickRe:First 6 Public Release
It appears that the source code is missing.

HorvatMRe:First 6 Public Release
Well, yeah, Fun500 is a closed source GUI.

BrandonRe:First 6 Public Release
It appears that the source code is missing. Fun500 is closed source, but if you want the code I can give it to you (once it's more stable). Also with Fun500 6, the SDK will have to contain a lot of source code.
what if say I just had a word processor running? I'd want it to use all of the screen. I might allow larger 1x2 or 2x1 or 2x2 titles, I'm not really sure yet.
do the selected action on mouseup instead of mousedown.I'll probably do that before the next release.

DickRe:First 6 Public Release
Why is it closed source?

BrandonRe:First 6 Public Release
My code isn't anything to study. If you want it you can have it, but I'm not going to use up bandwidth fore code unless it's wanted. And I feel like after I write code I have some ownership and should keep it, idk it's habbit.

BrandonRe:First 6 Public Release
I spent my time working on my Armada this week, so no real progress has been made.
