Brandon8kb Contest Plans
I know a lot of us are anxious to get started, but I'd like to wait and hold it starting at the "Grand Opening" of the new blog. The grand opening cannot take place until the site is fully stable, and tested. Last night I fixed fairly major bug with the ZIP uplaoding system, many different MIME types needed to be added to ensure that any ZIP file can be uploaded from any system. I expect that the contest will start in a few weeks, so lets try to answer any questions/get the rules sorted out now.
-1 Month Contest
-Combined sizes of the source+any other included files must be less than or equal to 8192 bytes as determined by the DOS "DIR" Command.
-The source must compile in either FB or QB(any version)
-Any code that you have at your displosal may be used

So what comments/questions/ideas do you have?

I have a question:  why 8kb?  Seems like a strange number.  8kb is a lot though.

It's 8kb beacause it's nice and round, and I thought it was pretty limiting.

And yes Aguma, you can start coding now.

My 100 line GUI was 4kb, so you can think of it as twice that. I think the size limit is much more interesting though.   Once I've finished my computing project for uni (Delphi), I'll get to work!

If you say that 100 lines is equal to 4kb, then an 8kb GUI could offer some sort of basic functionality, where as a 4kb GUI is so limiting that it limits creativity.
